We came in with 20 songs, and then we narrowed it down to ten songs, and then we wrote an additional seven. Every song is really different; on the previous record, after I co-wrote “All I Think About Now,” Charles said it would be great to write more songs together. A Perfect Circle has released four studio albums, the first three during the early 2000s: Mer de Noms, their debut album in 2000, and followed up by Thirteenth Step in 2003; then in 2004, Emotive—an album of radically re-worked cover songs.
You recorded this album at Dreamland Recordings in Woodstock, New York. I’ve been enjoying the sounds that come out of fingerpicking.
