Wasps are slightly more dangerous than stationary, unupgraded soldiers, a unit that can move, can be packed far more densely, has more range, can be put in towers to damn near double its range, has more EHP, has free regen can vet for 250% …
They don't require workers!! Two rows of walls, a little bit of fortifications and wasp guns should stop the attack of enemies. How many wasps equate to a Executor? My guess is 4-5. Their preview radius is small.

Eventually that kiting blob is going to get too large to keep running around or they some are going to split off and head for the command centre, rendering the tactic pointless anyway. If you have a clear path that the infected use to come to your base, you can place ~20 of em in a group just in range of it, they won't attract the horde unless they attack it.
I guess covering sides of the map without 100 ballis would end up being cheaper indeed. AR
