Biking, kayaking and fishing are all nearby, and the fabulous wineries of Anderson Valley are a short drive away. They both made sure we had everything we needed and made us feel right at home. The day before our arrival, I received an email informing us that our room had been upgraded as well. We'd love to see you back in California or at any other Lark locales soon! The bed was soft. We find some of the room details you mention as odd, considering that the recent renovation was much more than updates to the floors and furniture, but we do hope that you informed our on-property staff of these concerns, as we take guest feedback extremely seriously and will look into addressing these items. Our hotel was an easy walk to the central part of town. The always-available tea & coffee, and afternoon cookies, were a nice touch.


We had dinner in Patterson's pub, and made the walk down to watch the sunset with a bottle of champagne.

There are more places to choose from in the Mendocino area. Not good if you are an early riser and/or you need to depart before 9:30 +/-. The room was terrific; just wished the windows would open!

As for the 9am breakfast: California in general (and particularly Mendocino) is very laid-back - we want guests to be able to enjoy a leisurely morning and not rush out of bed, and have set breakfast times intentionally. We had a delightful stay at the Packard House (built in 1878), one of three inns/houses of the Blue Door Group in Mendocino! We spent the day on the headlands, visited, Hotels with Complimentary Breakfast in Mendocino. The best part of our stay was meeting other guests at the wine hour, late afternoon, and at breakfast.

It was a great location down the street from the coastal trail and in the quiet area of town. We would truly love the opportunity to welcome you back, as we'd love to ensure that we find the best room for you and provide you with the top-level experience we work for all guests to have. The room was quite warm and when we tried to open a window, we found that all were painted shut and no alternative for air flow.
