the way the shooting is depicted is terrible. Her swearing news reporter, who could have easily been established as a firebrand, is blazing for nothing, and a clumsily written character. The movie starts on a high note with scintillating sound track Dilli Dilli and catch the momentum pretty soon.
Rani is a delight to eyes after a long time. Vidya Balan on the other hand looked a little thin in her performance.

Indian cinema’s obsession with television and its star anchors/newsreaders often weakens the core plot, and Sabrina’s (essayed with great conviction and natural grace by Vidya Balan) fight that formed a vital element in the actual case and in the first half of the film is pushed aside for Gaity’s over-the-top histrionics. It is about 2 girls who decide to fight against the system which faltered in providing justice, while succeeding in the endeavor also manage to touch the hearts of millions of Indians. So, the question here is whether NOKJ lives up to the hype? It's almost unbelievable that the director goes for such insensitive humor in a film of this nature. While entertaining yet quite scary in its portrayal of the common (wo)man's value in Indian society, the film does ask some good questions about our world and humankind in general.

Nice work Amit Trivedi. No doubt, the story is strong but again a very deliberate effort is made to give the movie a real English film approach.
The script could have been more nuanced; some of the casting could have been better; the final product, for want a better word, could have been 'more finished.'
